My year in lists.
On your request, I compile a list Of my top five resolutions for this year (one!) I declined ‘cause I decided that I (two!) Do not believe in the new year anymore (three!) And you must confess that at times like these Hopefulness is tantamount to hopelessness (four!) And I accept that it’s time for a change but not in Places like this with people like these (five! five! five!...
thecuckooclock replied to your post:
Yeah, the Toronto Island concerts in generally were poorly planned, Arcade Fire was better but still poor, I ended up missing my flight cause of how long it ended up taking to get a ferry back, and there were folks just jumping the gate too.
Waiting for two hours to get off the island is really ridiculous, but it’s kind of nice to wind down after the...
Odd,
kudosaru:
that these two CD’s have such similar cover premises.
Thank god I’m not the only one who noticed!

Flaming Lips to stream NYE concert online →
coslive:
Hopefully you don’t have plans for New Year’s Eve yet, because here’s something better than most options: watch The Flaming Lips’ New Year’s Eve concert from the comfort of your couch. I mean, champagne, pillows, and Wayne Coyne… what could be better?
As previously reported, the band will ring in 2k11 by playing their 1k99 classic, The Soft Bulletin, in its entirety at the Cox...
thecuckooclock asked: I was at 3 of 5 of your gigs! and as you basically say they were awesome.
A few other notes I’ll add, Los Camp/Johnny Foreigner is probably one of the best gigs I’ve ever been to, the crowd was just insane, exactly the kind of crowds I love, ones who are passionate and sing and dance and don’t just want to fucking stand there trying to look all cool and shit. Also...

thecuckooclock asked: To counter with your 3 AM Best of 2010 list, I respond with a film rant I'm writing on 2 hours of sleep, so it should be similarly interesting :D
Also uh, you could still include Youth in Revolt, it's release was 2010, it only screened at film festivals in 09, or at least that the rules I use when I make lists, same with foreign flicks and stuff not released here till...

thecuckooclock asked: If I didn't like you and your blog so much I would rant like crazy about your movies blog :P but I do like you and your music list is pretty awesome, so I'll let it slide and hey, Buried was awesome, so.
Crazy ethnic stuff. We have a tree, stockings, presents & turkey. You...

8 of those were on mine. Haha.
That’s awesome :) What were your other two?

Top Gigs of 2010
Broken Social Scene/Pavement/Beach House/Band of Horses/ Timber Timbre/ Zeus at Toronto Island
Highlights: Seeing BSS with all the ladies again, the girl in front of me at Pavement who was experiencing absolute bliss (and the fact that we were only a couple rows from the stage), Band of Horses playing ‘The Funeral,’ all of the other bands being amazing in general (Beach House...
Top Movies of 2010
Buried (September 24th) Directed by Rodrigo Cortés and starring Ryan Reynolds
That’s basically it. Youth in Revolt was going to be on here, but I realized it was technically released in 2009. To be fair, I haven’t seen all of Inception yet (and it seems to be everybody’s number 1), and Look at What the Light Did Now is in the mail. And I’m sure The Ivory Tower would be...

Top Albums of 2010
*In order of release date, because I’m far too indecisive to pick something less arbitrary*
1. Heartland, Owen Pallett (January 12th) 2. Romance is Boring, Los Campesinos! (January 26th)
The first to albums were like LC! + twee. This album was like LC! + chaos. I enjoyed it, although I’m still vaguely uncomfortable every time Gareth says cock with those pained expressions he...

My year in lists.
Obligatory ‘End of 2010’ lists coming up. I wrote them at 3 in the morning so they should be interesting at least.

why does new years have to be a tremendous hassle?
timeittakestogrow:
It is always hyped up and becomes a let down. Really want to boycott right now and stay home and continue watching LOST.

Day 6: Favourite album of the 60s

amazing dress, kind of doesn’t suit you though which is a bit tragic. Maybe it just looks strange in dull lighting. Regardless if you were Australian I would totally make awkward advances.
Hahaha, I don’t even know what to make of this comment but it makes me laugh :)

Day 5: The last allbums you listened to
I'm back!
I’d say the last couple days were a success. I watched (most of) Scarface with my family, learned how to snake braid my hair, read 200 hundred pages of Norwegian Wood, and got about seven vintage dresses and stuff from my Grandma’s closet :)
Obligatory Christmas present posts, photos, and new year’s lists will happen in a bit.
